MELVILLE, NY – Huntington Hospital, member of Northwell Health, honored the father and son team of Ted and Craig Weiss at its 2015 Annual Gala, hosted at Oheka Castle on December 4th. The real estate duo collectively head one of Long Island's leading real estate development and management firms.
With more than 370 guests in attendance, including distinguished business and community members along with many leading medical professionals and hospital administrators, the event raised nearly $400,000 to benefit the expansion of Huntington Hospital's emergency, inpatient oncology and maternity departments.
"T. Weiss Realty is proud to be associated with the North Shore-LIJ Health System and Huntington Hospital, both of which serve the Long Island community in so many ways," said Ted Weiss. "They are, and have been, one of the strongest growth engines for the economy and for the healthy well-being of Long Island's entire population. There is no question in our minds that the North Shore-LIJ system is at the cutting edge of health care and we are thrilled to support the system in any way that we can."
Craig Weiss, the company's president added, "Being named co-honorees for the 2015 Huntington Hospital Gala is a distinction few fathers and sons have the opportunity to share. I am eagerly anticipating working with Huntington Hospital to raise awareness and the necessary funding for future improvements in the years ahead."
"Huntington Hospital is grateful to have the support of both Ted and Craig Weiss to help raise awareness and funding for the hospital's capital improvement program and in particular, the emergency department," said Gerard X. Brogan Jr., MD, Huntington Hospital's executive director.
T. Weiss Realty's current portfolio includes 600,000 square feet of Class-A office space in Melville occupied by many Fortune 500 businesses, as well as a medical office building in Massapequa.
Construction has already begun on the hospital's new emergency wing with an expected completion date that coincides with the hospital's 100th anniversary celebration in 2016.
The gala was presented in part by the Arlindo & Evelyn Jorge Family Foundation, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the Huntington Hospital Medical Staff and T. Weiss Realty Corp.
